The Rebar Grape Arbor

Rebar Grape Arbor
One of my clients brought back this idea from Switzerland of making a grape arbor out of rebar.  With some major modifications this is what we ended up with.

There's about 2 dozen 20 foot long rebar pieces in this design, all woven together to form 4 arches, and 2 domed ceilings.  Planted at the base of three of the legs are grape vines, which will start to climb over the arbor and form a nice leafy roof.  The structure is almost strong enough to hang from so it should support a lot of grapes.

We're still working out the final details of finishing it off, but it came out pretty good for a first try.  I'm sure I'll be doing more of these, with different designs, if this one works out, which, I'm sure it will.
